EtherMail confirms a human before it pays.

EtherMail rewards people for opening mail. They needed to know the account was a person, without an ID, a form, or a stored face. The check was live in under an hour.

The problem

EtherMail pays users in EMC for actions such as opening a mail. That only works if the account belongs to a person.

A script can collect the same reward. An ID check would have slowed sign-up, and asked for documents EtherMail did not want to hold.

They needed a human check that was fast, seamless, and anonymous.

Live in under an hour

EtherMail opens a session. The user finishes it. A signed yes or no comes back. Online the same day.

Anonymous by design

One selfie. A short head movement. Pass or fail. No name, no email, no document. The selfie is not written to storage.

The price held up

“By far the most cost-efficient solution we found.” Gerald Heydenreich, Founder, EtherMail.

What the user does

  2. Scan the QR with a phone, or stay in the browser.
  3. Follow the short head movements. One selfie.
